A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF MCLOUTH, KANSAS, PERTAINING TO THE COMPENSATION OF CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS

WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 1-209 of the City Code of McLouth, Kansas, members of the City Council are compensated for service at a rate of $24.00 per meeting; and

WHEREAS, the City Council has expressed its desire to suspend compensation for its members due to current economic conditions:

NOW BE IT RESOLVED that the City of McLouth declares that City Code Section 1-209 shall be suspended for a period ending on May 1, 2016, and that no persons currently serving on the City Council will be compensated for service during this period. This resolution is subject to repeal at any time during the period of effectiveness, upon majority vote of the governing body.
